If you’ve been around the network marketing industry for while, you
are bound to notice something interesting. A person can be the top
leader of a MLM company, which may happen to go under, and within 6
months this same person is the top leader in a completely new company.
This will certainly make you wonder about the mysterious MLM secret. If
this described scenario can happen more than once, to more than just a
few individuals, there must be something behind it. There has to be a
secret that you don’t know about.
Well I believe the answer is yes
and no. Yes there is something that eludes most people, but no, it is
not a secret. Building a MLM downline comes down to one thing and one
thing only. That thing this is YOU. Now of course the said person in
our scenario above may have been around awhile, and may have perfected
their skills over time. They have gained experience knowledge, which is
more effective than learned knowledge. However they have acquired
something else. They have a reputation as a leader in this industry.
Your personal reputation will have the biggest effect on how you build
your business.
When you approach a prospect about your business
opportunity, that prospect will usually have their mind made up about
their answer even before hearing the details. Why would this be the
case? Well the information coming out of your mouth is preceded by your
reputation. If they were edified by a third person, who they trusted,
before talking to you, their decision would be made completely
differently than if they had no idea who you were.
You must define
yourself as a leader. Even if you are just starting out, you need to
carry yourself as a leader. Leaders have many things going for them.
The first and foremost appealing factor is their confidence. They take
control of the conversation up front. Even if you have been in your
company only one week, you have one week more experience than someone
just coming in.
Leaders are attractive. People are drawn to them.
They have branded themselves and people seek them out. This is why
they can move from the top of one company to the top of another. They
have taken the time to brand themselves, made connections with the right
people, and actively prospect.
These leaders seem to build their
MLM downline effortlessly. However, because they have put themselves in
their leadership position, recruiting into their downline becomes a lot
easier. People don’t normally join companies because of the specific
company. They join because they feel their sponsor can give them the
best opportunity to achieve their dreams.
